Oil Pans
« on: June 14, 2016, 12:41:04 PM »
I'm looking at oil pans, and while I'd like to get a higher capacity than stock one, I am worried about ground clearance.
My wagon, while not a low rider by any means, does sit low. THe stock oil pan looks to be just above the cross member. I've looked at the Milodon ones as well as some Moroso ones and I am worried about ground clearance with their higher capacity ones.
What are you guys running? Is a higher capacity pan worth it for a mild street engine?

I've been looking at oil pans with the same concerns as you.  I was going to check one of these out.

I run that 820 and love it, but be sure to clean it out, everyone I ever bought had a bunch of slag in it.

FYI Doug Garifo had the best prices by far when I bought mine (pre Brent and Barry days)

That Canton 'T' pan is a nice piece, lots of baffles/trap doors etc. The stock style Cobra 'T' pan would also work, but honestly, on a mild street engine, a simple factory style windage tray with an extra quart of oil and you'll be fine, provided you're head returns are not backing up and you're not filling the heads up with 4 quarts of oil.
