My viewpoint is from driving around in Crown Vic PI's. I like sleeper four doors that handle. The CV is relatively slow, though. Coyote swaps are starting to gain momentum, so...

So you like Vics too? I daily drive an 03 that I have slightly modded. I added the P71 speedo, Cobra trac lok, Ford Racing 3.73 gears, 31 spline axles, Powerstop drilled/slotted rotors, painted calipers, Cobra wheels, Procomp intake, BBK 73mm throttle body, 04 P71 air box and tube w/K&N filter, Ford Racing 24lb injectors, SCT tuner. OBX long tube header and exhaust kit waiting for me to install along with a TCI deep sump trans pan. Trick Flow top end kit and 5 speed swap whenever I get the time and money.

I could post a pic if you or Jay don't mind.

Looks good. Do you have any before and after ET's or dyno numbers? I've avoided altering mine because I'm constantly distracted by the idea of cars like this, which is near me.

My PI is an '06 that was privately owned by a Sheriff's officer buddy (also has S-code 67 Lane). That means he bought it new with the basic package, but it has never had a push bar or antennas or such. He did add cruise and the Premium Sound stereo, but it is otherwise stock. I picked it up last year with 72k on the odo and 262 hours on the idle clock. It has the std TRSD paint and steelies. Oh, the blue and reds behind the grille and rear deck and siren are still operational, so I can clear everyone outta mah friggin way if I'm late for happy hour.

If I don't get a new car, I may put an E-street Coyote in my '97 PI, just to be an asshole. Because that's how I roll. Or, more likely, I may rebuild my golf cart and move into a senior community. Whichever.

Thanks. Unfortunately, no on both. I plan to get the car to the track as soon as I get the exhaust on it, hopefully in two weeks. It would have been this weekend, but I decided to swap the intake on the Fairlane instead.

If you are fresh out of excuses, feel free to borrow one of mine. How about this oh-so-true gem... "Was gonna finish up that project, but it's been 118 to 122 degrees in my garage for the last few weeks."

I'm really really good at excuses. Just anyone. Or everyone.  8)

My full list of excuses are in the Meltdown post. Sadly, they are true.

The "mag" damper's are GT350 class stuff  --- cool but when it get's 100,000 miles on it and they take a crap $$$$$.

Looks like $50,000 a copy for SS. Dam'd if I can find IF the SS's have an Independent or Solid rear axle?........................Just wondering since the Media/Magazine's blasted the crap out of Mustang's for years with solid-axles...
That's some serious displacement and wake up Joker: Ford can't go dropping big displacement motors in anything, the do not have any 6.0 displacements -- "IMO, this is what the Taurus SHO should have been. You know, the version nobody ever sees and is virtually indistinguishable from a rental car. Six liters, advanced suspension, and a MANUAL TRANS. Low 13-second 1/4 mile!"

Like it or not FoMoCo has committed to high tech DOHC turbo'd motors..

Finally got the car to the track a few weeks ago. Ran Midnight Mahem with it at Cordova, IL.

A couple pics of the setup:

OBX long tube header and exhaust kit, all stainless

Sorry these are fuzzy

Car was very consistent. Here was my best run:

Car has much better ET in it because of the converter. The calendar reaction time was due to some "modified pro-tree" ??? After the stage lights, no yellows came down, just green lit up. Everyone was sitting there.....When I took it down, the lock-up clutches in the converter were stuck and I couldn't build any stall. It would also die at a stop and switching to a drive gear. After racing all night, the clutches must've freed up, because now it's back to normal. I am going to get a stall converter soon and head back to see what I can muster. I'm hoping for low 14's. The speed is there for 13.9's :)

I figure this combo is making about 320hp at crank. I feel good picking up 100hp over stock with a few simple bolt-ons, generic 93 tune, and 117k on the clock.
