EMC 2016 Y Blocks dominate Vintage entries
« on: May 09, 2016, 09:03:22 PM »
4 out of 7 teams running vintage FoMoCo power..(Eaton< Mummert, RB Vintage and Yestertech).. Looks like FEs get to take the year off due to unfavorable rules. I would have loved  to see Barry in Nitrous class

List is already out of date before it got published.
I am in the big block class.
Got confirmation yesterday.

Don't think they'd have me in nitrous - that's spec'd for small blocks if I recall.
Entries there are "light" - Adney and I are talking about doing a brand "X" deal and trying to kill it on spray.

Was the proverbial: "Outlaw What Ever Jon Kasse Won With Rule" put into effect?

Yes, John's engine was not invited back..  same true for Tony Bischoff.

John's 2015 engine is still for sale... After the contest he put a bigger cam in it, put on a Super Victor intake and 1000 cfm carb and it made over 700 horsepower.

Glad to see you got in Barry..I like the idea of sacrificing a scub on the dyno.. The LS blowups and fire added some excitement last year.

"LS blowups" ?     I sure hope they can step-up the live coverage. Last years was off-the-charts terrible with reporting that was often hopelessly delayed and far from complete.. Live Video?....No such thing!    Made all the worse by the in-your-face fantastic coverage of Drag Week.

Drag Week and Power Tour are their babies, so they get all the resources. Engine Masters was inherited so nobody except for Dulcich has any history with it..They are short on staff like all media these days, so Engine Masters is at the bottom of the priority pile.  As an aside Dulcich and Frieburger do a nice job on their You Tube engine masters videos.  Nothing to do with the contest, but interesting..

If I was a Powerball winner LOL - I'd buy that motor and stick it in my RED.  Then watch people try to figure out WTF kind of motor is that.  :)

I glad to see that your entrance was figured out Barry.  They should not be overlooking tough reliable competitors. I would like to get working on our engine, just have to clear a few things out of the way.
It would be interesting to see someone purchase Jon's engine and put it to use.
