What gears should I run?

Have 2wd drive lwb f100. Has a 4 barrel 390 with a c6 and shift kit. It's not going to be driven on the highway. Just the streets. It has 3.50 gears in it right now.

no highway just surface streets, I would run lots of gear. Depends on the tire size and motor, but 3.89s to 4.56s? I run 4.56s with an od with 28" tires in my daily driver, 90% of my driving is around town here, I havent even used the OD in months, for around town, 40/45 mph light to light, the 4.5's are perfect with a free revving sb, FE I would go 3.89s with a 26" tire, 4.11s or 4.30s with a 28 depending on cam/intake.

Depends on how much converter you are going to use.
If you have a stock converter then the 3.50 gear will work good.

Stock 4bbl 390?  What size tires on the back?

I have a stock converter with 29 inch tires in the back. They're some used Hoosier drag slicks.

Given that it's not going to be driven on the highway, it has relatively tall rear tires, and it's a fairly heavy pickup, I'd say use some lower gears. 

4.11's or even 4.30's would really give it some zing compared to the 3.50's.

Usually a 360 in trucks.

Ditto, sticky 29's, 4.30s, then as you can afford it, cam and a 10" converter. Yippee!!!

Drive shaft hoop before you change gears would be a wise investment.  Driveshafts and u-joints tend not to like those lwb trucks and sticky tires.  Some sort of traction device would also be a help at keeping the tires planted on the street.  I have seen those long driveshafts twisted and come out at the absolute worst time.  If you have the two-piece drive shaft, I would think about another vehicle for spirited driving on the street.  JMO, but bad things happen in trucks with sticky tires and no weight in the bed.  Joe-JDC

4.11s are usually a good all around pick depending on tire size.  Our F350 has 4.10s and I drive it highway regularly.  Usually with 7500 lbs following it.

Thanks, I've used various calculators created by other people and none of them were as user friendly as what I put into mine.
