Ford FE powered truck made it on bangshift... ice racing of all things.. Video..

This was the final race of season... It was very warm and very wet. Not normal conditions by any means. Normal would be snow dust flying... Not skipping water puddles.. Anyway the old truck did win two class championships this season with only entering three out of the four weeks

Dang, Cody, that thing was flat out hauling! Trucks naturally being a bit skittish on ice and snow, I'm amazed at how well you get it to hook and take off, in a straight line even. Pretty cool! And winning 2 out of 3 events is even cooler!

LOL, looks almost like a couple more degrees and John Vermeersch would be showing up and teaching everyone how to go fast with his SOHC Drag Boat!

Am I correct to presume that's a swamp or shallow pond when it's not frozen?.....

I don't understand why repeated Launchings on ice w/studs does not chain-saw tracks/grooves in the ice and bottom out the axle housings?..................It would seem impossible to stay out of the groove.

It's a constant battle normally we have holes 8-12 inches deep by the end of the day, but everyone is constantly staggering their chosen line trying to find the best Line on the ice for every pass... Pretty much turns into a full track width hole at the start line and the track has a sweeper to keep the loose ice cleared between classes.  This takes place on lake Alexander I was told it is on the shallow part of the lake 6/8 feet deep. The record is 5.40's at 140 mph. Thanks for the compliments.

Living in the south and growing up in NY I was thinking ice would not freeze that deep -- now I get it the "track" by the end of the day's racing starts out in a low section.   So is that 1/8 mile?.......................

1/8... Every week the they move the starting line and finish line... Shutdown just gets a few feet shorter
