Please help me ID these parts?
« on: January 06, 2016, 11:02:52 AM »
I found these in the trunk of my '69 Cobra - any idea what they are?  My guess is motor mounts - but for this car or something else?

Need a better picture of the thickness of the metal, and is that a stud in the picture?  If the metal is thin, maybe a shock cover for rear shocks?  Joe-JDC

Here is another photo.  They are thick metal, heavy duty which is why I thought they may be motor mounts.  They may not even fit on this car.  It is a barn find which has a number of parts in the trunk.

Those look like a landing pad (for lack of the correct word) for the motor mounts.
They attach to the frame by the four bolt holes.
The stud on the motor mount goes into the center hole.
I think :) maybe. Don't know what car though.

That's what I thought too but the photos I've seen of FE motor mounts don't look like they would bolt to these...the car is a 1969 Fairlane Cobra (VIN=46R).  I'm not near the car right now so I thought I'd see of anyone on this forum recognizes the parts straight away from past experience.

Hmm
I've got a 67 Fairlane and the mounts don't resemble those.
Somebody will recognize them.

They are not truck or 65/66 Galaxie. Could be for even newer than FE.

I guess I was hoping someone would see them and say "Oh, those are ___ off of a ____, I have a bunch of them laying around..."  I am going to keep them nonetheless, maybe I'll figure it out when I get back to the car and of course, I'll be watching this thread just in case...
