What a shame! Looks like either a mechanical failure of the crane, or maybe his outriggers were on soft ground.  :P

I can here the crane operator "my dad's a TV repairman. He has an awsome set of tools, we can fix it, dude!"

I thought at first he was letting it down while everyone was yelling stop, but I think at that time the crane was tipping over.
He couldn't pull it up because he was tipping, couldn't let it down to stop tipping because it was crushing the plane.
Not a good situation to be in.
