« on: November 13, 2015, 12:36:04 PM »
Rare tv commercial for the Ford GT, pretty cool. Aired during Superbowl 38, which explains why I never saw it lol. Now if only I knew someone who owned one  ;)

I remember that commercial, in a way it was a waste of airtime - Ford was going to sell every GT it made anyway.  And if they started production again they will still sell every one they made.  I don't know if they made any money on them, but it didn't matter just because the GT drew people into the showrooms.  But the way corporate accounting works, on paper these type of programs are a wash.

A commercial like that has nothing to do with selling cars but rather a "Look at us. We're making the baddest American car that money can buy" bragging rights. And you certainly couldn't argue with that!

They're dam well doing the same thing with the GT350/GT350R's. I picked up a 6-page GT350 brochure at Ford Racing truck. Bet that brochure cost Ford as much or more then the std Mustang brochure and won't sell one additional unit of GT350.
