? for you Jay

I was reading the 427 Stroker on Nitrous Dyno result.
The difference between the no nos and nos graph lines at the beginning of the pull
show a difference of about 25 on the torque and about 10 on the hp.
Is this a weird moon alignment thing or is this common on nos engines.
There is the same, but smaller difference on the 428 graph as well. ?
Now once the nos starts doing it's thing the line is going for the moon. ;D
I'm wondering did you do both pulls back to back, meaning the nos gear was installed just not
switched on for the pull and then switched on for the second pull.
Just trying to get an idea of where this power is being lost at low speed.
Maybe the nos plate it's self? A small leak or something.

The answer is a little simpler, Howie.  Before I ran the nitrous I retarded the timing on the engine about 8 degrees.  Normally in the car you would have an ignition retard wired into the nitrous switch so that when the nitrous button was pushed, the ignition retarded, but at the dyno that day I didn't have a programmable MSD on the engine.  So, before I ran the nitrous pull I dialed back the timing by 8 degrees; it was down on power early in the pull because of the retarded timing.
