Very nice Travis! Both the bumpers, and the Galaxie look stunning. Any chance of some details of what's lurking under the monster scoop? Transmission?

Edit: Just saw another post where you mentioned it was a 385 series.

Hate to do another link but it will be a lot easier than posting a bunch more pictures and details. In short, Its a 557 ford, Tunnel ram and dominators, Lenco 5 speed , stock frame rails but has an aftermarket 4link between them. It has the outer wheel bucket cut out. no modifications to the inner. Can fit a 29.5 x 10.5W or a 315 radial. Car has been sitting for 4 years now. Its as it is in the pictures yet. I have every piece to complete it but have lost all interest in it. I lost my best friend last year in an accident that also happened to be my dad. It has really screwed me up and I have little interest in cars right now.

Super nice car Travis. I remember seeing parts of the build on the 460 forum I think, but maybe it was the bullet. I for one, would really like to see you finish it and make some passes. Your attention to detail and fab skills are impressive. Keep after it!

There is a 'reality'-type TV program regarding a shop here in Detroit that does such work. I watched an episode where they went through a lengthy process of chrome-painting trim for an old Packard, if I remember properly. The name of the operation escapes me at the moment but they are also custom wheel manufacturers.

I appreciate the link to the build, Travis. Just amazing! I was starting to get a little jealous until I saw the 385 motor. Well, maybe I'm still a little jealous. A little.

What do you guys think about "wrapping" chrome. Obviously they are wrapping an entire car but it gives you an idea of the capabilities.   A downside is wraps are not permanent. There's a lot of commercial vehicles and obviously NASCAR racecars that are always wrapped.

I talked to a guy about wrapping the bumpers. He said he did two sets..... the first and last at the same time. Not many people are willing to tackle a reflective wrap on curves and bends.

the vinyl that looks like chrome is mylar. It has no stretching ability & its longevity sucks. you can try to section it, but in the end no joy.

Travis  could I get the contact info for the shop in MD?  I have some headlight housings that are a bitch to re-chrome.. I would like to see what your guy says about doing them..  How did cost compare to chrome plating for your bumper..
