Mike, your car always looks good. How long have you had it now?

I'm also curious how high you spin the engine. Launch? Shift? Traps?
Cam lift isn't out of this world, so it should be fairly easy on the valvetrain.

Nice car. ;) I am curious on the headers though, does it really need any more than 2 1/8"?

I had the car about 10yrs, sold to spend time with kids. Started father & son stock eliminator build ('67 Shelby)
Son not to interested so it's bogged down to a slow build.
The tunnel port was shifted at 6900 -7000, through the lights about 6900 when throttle stop was on. (7300 on the 141mph run)
Once in a while it saw 8000 by accident on the burn out. Was spinning hard and sounded good. Didn't have the guts to try 8000 on a run.
headers were big 2 1/4" with 4" collectors. (worked fine, I guess, didn't try any others) car left the line on the mat with 5K stall on a trans brake so no need for low end.
I did miss having steel fenders and real glass (that could roll up and down) fiberglass and lexan has it's drawbacks.
I'm hoping the new car will run some good numbers, I've been talking with Blair and putting together the best parts I can. What is hard to come to grips with is I'm spending more money to go slower!
On it's way to a new home.

Nice....   :)And I thought  I was the only FE in Super Gas car in the country with an FE . And the only one with 2.25 tubes . Guess header companies told you it wouldnt work ,same as me . I piked up 5 mph when changes headers w/o changing anything .Glad to see i,m not the only one doing this . Most people ask me if I have a chevy when I tell them its a 427 , I enjoy telling them Ford made a 427 3 yrs before chev.I use BBMs ported by Jeff Colvert with an old portasonic intake & a 850 QFT .Leave at 5000 & go through at 7200.Have to keep it down as its a stock hydraulic blk . I think it would have died already if the blok wasnt filled to water pump . Brent Lykins helped me when I was pulling insert outa the heads ,told me you need T&D race rockers . That turned out to be good advice . Ran 9.45 at 145 atb 4000 ft corrected 2 sundays ago .2 egt system said 1200 ,so I know theres a little left in it . That was with timing at 30 ,going to my old at 36 next time out .
