410 Dyno - or why I decided to start over.

I bought this engine from a local Ford fan to replace my stock 360. It was a much better engine than the 360 but over a couple of years I decided I wanted more, so I started thinking about a cam. Some of the wise fellows on this site convinced me I had to tear into it a bit before picking a cam, and as I got deeper into the engine and researching it, I decided to go all out. Here is the rear wheel dyno on it:


It was running a stock 1U crank and C6MEA block.

9.3:1 Compression ratio.

Cam
Lift: 484 – 510
Duration: 270 – 280
Duration at 0.05: 204-212
Lob: 107-117

Tires
P285/70R17 – 33”

Gears
NP435/Dana 21
Differential: 3.73 gears
1st: 6.68
2nd: 3.34
3rd: 1.66 (or 1.74)
4th: 1
