GT sighting

Cam saw a blue and white GT in town today. Is there more than 1 of those around here, or did Professor Brown blow the dust off of his? 8)

That was me, alright.  I turned the insurance on last Wednesday and needed a GT cruise to set the tone for the weekend.  You probably saw me just after I was pulled over on highway 25 coming into town, for doing 66 in a 55 LOL!  The cop didn't give me a ticket; I think he just wanted to look at the car  ;D

LOL in '75 I got pulled over at 3AM at 120 plus on Silverado Trail in a '69 Boss 302 with the owner riding shotgun, and the cop says hey it's drunk-thirty in the morning, bad time to drive fast, and really, I just wanted to look at the car. Have a good night and be careful.

Walt Cantrell got what has to be the slowest speeding ticket ever in a gennie 427 Cobra, got pulled over on Saturday afternoon right in front of Courtesy Ford in Napa for going 40 in a 35- and got the ticket, no warning. Car salesmen loved it, by the time Deputy Dawg was done, there were at least 50 people in the parking lot watching

I'm glad to hear that the GT is on the road! Cam was at the hardware store so he did see you on 25 but he didn't see you get pulled over.
I haven't even got any of the old cars out of the garage yet this spring. I need to get busy and get something ready to drive. :)

Funny stuff Gene.
I have this odd ability to get pulled over like that.  I only really spend 3-4 months a year on land, yet still get pulled over about 3 times a year.  Last one was for doing 49 in a 45mph area.

I got did get pulled over once in my 86 Dodge Aries years ago.  The speedometer didn't work, so I was very excited about the fact that he clocked me at 86mph.  I never knew it'd go that fast.

Also got pulled over in my ole 88 F150, 300/6 with 2.73 rear gears, that joker would fly on the highway.  I was feeling pretty good, and the cop walked up to the window and said "Son, do you have any idea how fast you were driving?"
I laughed hysterically and pointed to the dash and said, "I was doing about R, almost P."

So Jay, since you did buy a GT (new?) does this mean you get dibs (re: option to buy) on the newest GT? I know the price is apparently sky high but.....

I doubt that Ford would offer that kind of option to the original purchasers.  There were about 4000 GTs built in 2005-6, and I've read that they are only planning to produce 250 of the new ones, so how could they manage that?  Even if they did, I wouldn't buy one, especially if the price was as high as is being reported ($400K).  My 2005 GT looks like the '60s version; the new ones are a lot different.  And, they have a V-6  :o  I'm keeping the one I've got; I like it a lot better than the new ones.

Yes, I agree on the looks. I did see a non-operational GT at the Febr. Chicago Auto Show. Liked the front, roof and door treatment; did not like the rear quarters at all.

The cop had to be a Chevy guy. What a sap.

I agree, the old ones look so much better. they are probably only going to make 250 of the new ones because they know that only 250 people would want a homely  $400,000 v6
