Carb spacer, junk??

I was going to buy a carb spacer at the parts store and this is what I found. How can this possibly work with the counter sunk name insignia right in the sealing surface? What are they thinking, or is it just me? I did not buy it!

I would try try a jomar power cone spacer

I use Jomar, extremely high quality and any kind you can think of.
They even come with pins to align them with the intake manifold although I did not use them.
Just click the carb type and go crazy!

One size does not fit all. If you want a 4 hole spacer for a 750 it is different than say an 850. Sized to match.

I use composite or carbon to isolate heat wood spacers work too. Aluminum kinda defeats the purpose somewhat.

Thanks for the link, I ordered the first one on the list, SUM-G1400 just like the one above but no messed up gasket surface. I just wanted to try a simple open spacer on  my dual plane.

I've got a handful of those cheapo Summit spacers.  No problems with them in the 4 or so years of playing with them.
I've got a handful of them on the wall, 1/4inch to 2inch, open and four hole.

i don't have a dyno, so I just swap them around till I get what I like.

I'm running a 1" summit cheapie under a 3310 Holley / performer RPM.  I am also using a 3/8" spacer under a 14" round el-cheapo air cleaner with a 4" element.  Did all that thinking I'd help air flow with less restriction and improved transition, don't know if I did any good though.

I clicked onto the Jomar link in the above post to look at their power cone carb spacer .Jomar is offering what they call a FE rocker shaft girdle .From the looks it is somewhat promising .It uses the rocker shaft stands to strengthen the shaft .Take a minute to check it out kinda interesting.On spacers summit offers their version of the power cone appears to be made of the same material .I bought one several years ago and it has held up fine .Check out the Jomar link some good stuff on there .Doug

Cheap spacers work fine.  We use them too.  But be aware that they usually don't fit worth a darn - you'll be buzzin' the holes open before you use them the first time.

Funny you say that Barry.... I've never had to do that.
Is it more of a problem on larger carburetors?  I only use 750cfm's and down.

Also depends on what intake you are using will kind of determine what carb spacer you may need. An open one or a 4 hole will depend on how big or small the plentum is
