1965 Ford galaxie
« on: November 02, 2013, 03:48:13 PM »
Hi guys.

Great forum you have her. I am new her and thought i should share some pictures off my Fe powered galaxie, And i am sorry if my spelling is getting wrong, i am from norway :) Well, i bought a 1965 galaxie about a month ago. The car have a history in the family . My brother owned this car when i was around 7 years old (22 years now). So this is the car i spent some off my child hood inn. After some phone calls i got in contact with the current owner off the car. It turns out that the car was for sale because the owner had cancer. Pretty sad. So i hit the road with my brother and bought back the old galaxie. The car is a 1965 Galaxie 500 XL with a 352 Fe. Its in the same shape when my brother owned. The only change is the paint that have gone from blue to Green with silver roof. I am thinking off building a copy off 28 fred lorenzen galaxie. Maybe a 390 crank in it ? Need some help and tech from you guys later on with that project. Enjoy the pictures if i manage to upload them.

I realize this probably isn't what you are looking for at the moment, but it is probably a simpler and easier solution in the long run.

Set up an account on Photobucket.  It's free and at least when I did it, it was very simple.  Photobucket is also very easy to use.  Open up the page, click the download link, and either browse to where the pics are on your computer or, even better, open up the folder containing your picture and drag them right in to Photobucket.  After you have them loaded up, whenever you look at your photobucket page, you will have links to choose from that you can use to post that current pic to a forum.  I have a thumbnail link, an image ling, and a direct link which I use depending on what forum I'm visiting (some like different formats) and how many pictures I plan to post.  In this case, I'll post up a random Galaxie pic from my photobucket account....

If I were on the old FE forum, this would be the text posted to display the same picture.

There are other photo hosting sites that may be equal to or even better than Photobucket, but it's the one I happen to be familiar with and it has been flawless for years so I recommend it as an excellent service.

I think Wade has it right.  Another set of instructions are in the forum info post, link here:

Cool!

Hey by the way, welcome to the forum Galaxie352.

Sounds like a very cool project, I'm eager to see the pics.  And yes, boring and stroking a 352 to 390 specs is a pretty normal occurrence.  Since the all parts of the 390 rotating assembly are standard items and 352 stroker pistons are not, you won't want to do just the crank.

Nice car, Robin.  It looks really clean; has it been restored at some point?  Do they salt the roads in Norway during the winter?  Any old Galaxie you see here in the northern US usually has a terminal case of rust...

Thanks!  Yes, that's my one and only car. Transportation and recreation all in one big package  ;)

Good job on getting your photo hosting set up, your Galaxie looks great!  Better than mine for sure.
On the double posting, it looks like you're just trying too hard.  All you need to do it copy the link that has the IMG tags from Photobucket and paste it in here as a piece of text. Looks like maybe you're trying to insert the link as an image but the forum doesn't need all that info.  The thing you post should look like this, except with square brackets [] instead of parenthesis ()...

(IMG)http://i953.photobucket.com/albums/ae13/Yblock55/20131020_134128_zps742e0dc5.jpg(/IMG)

Also you should be able to go back and edit your old posts to remove the duplicate (but nice) pics.

The car have been paintet from blue/blue vinyl roof to green with silver roof. Everything else is all original. The car was bought in canada (One owner). The first picture is taken in canada. My brother bought it from the guy who importet the car from canada. My brother used the car on the winter, at that time it was not so much salt. Today there is waay to much salt on the road. Even the new cars today rust here in norway :( After my brother sold the car it was repaintet to the green color. Its a really good feel car. Only thing that annoys me is the steering wheel. I have the original but it have some cracks in it =/
