Forged 427 Wide Journal NASCAR crankshaft
« on: October 19, 2013, 12:15:17 AM »
I had this crank checked out and turned for a 427 I was building but never used it because I couldn't find the rods. Its currently 20/20 with some minor pitting in a couple of journals. You could turn it further but I was going to run it as it was. It comes with a set of main bearings but no rod bearings. I would love to trade for a set of Scat 6.7 BBC rods or a steel 4.125 stroker crank or both with some cash thrown in from my end. I would also sell it outright for $500 to help fund my engine build. Please email me at dwalters1450@verizon.net   Thanks for the great website Jay!!

Why not grind to 2.20 journal and use BBC rods? Easy to find, you have to slightly narrow the rods to fit also.

Thanks for the idea but it won't work with the combination I'm building.

The crank is kinda useless as is.....never was any undersize bearings for this width.....ONLY option is cut to  2.200 journals,, stroke it to 3.99 MAX at the same time, and you may have a sellable part  JMHO   john v

That's why I figured I'd sell it John. I think the price is fair enough that some could do the machine work and have a very nice crank in the end. If not then back under my work bench it goes...lol
