Are SA 2015 helmets still in certification. Looking at helmets they are selling SA2020 which if I’m correct is already 6 years old?

According to the latest version of the NHRA rule book "Snell 2015 certified helmets expire Jan. 1, 2027". If purchasing new that, pretty much, eliminates the 2015 from consideration. Good luck.

I have a sa 2015 helmet now. Just wondering if is still good. I just upgraded my belts and was wondering if the helmet was out of date. Thanks for the reply.

Joe, are you going to an NHRA sanctioned event, or does your local track just check that stuff pretty closely? I'm just curious how strict they are on Certs. What about bellhousings, dampers etc?

Some tracks are stricter than others. Lebanon valley last week called me on the belts being a couple of months over. He never even looked at the helmet. Just don’t want to be put in that position. Then after I bought belts at the track( not the ones I wanted) it rained.

Joe, it looks like even though it’s a 2015 helmet the cycle starts the following year. So 2016 till the end of 2026 is the 10 year window for that helmet.
I believe Dallas is correct in it being good through this year.

Doug the guy I was with is a popular car called the champagne express (google it). They went through his whole car belts,flywheel, damper but he is up to date with everything. Don’t get me wrong we all want to be safe but I’ve only used those belts like 25 times they look brand new. I get it everyone wants to make money.
