Total Control Products FE engine mounts
« on: August 17, 2026, 10:25:28 AM »
Has anyone installed TCP FE engine mounts in a 60's Mustang or any classic Ford and if so is the engine positioned about the same as stock?
Some say the engine sits lower.
Lower would be a problem for Hooker header clearance and mustang oil pan to crossmember clearance.
TCP tech claims exact as stock.
I realize some adjustment or shimming is probably required.

Thanks,
TonyS

I have not tried their FE engine mounts, but they look nicely made.
I doubt them being any more in/out of spec than some of the aftermarket stuff available... some of which is junk right out of the box these days.

If you are going from old, worn out engine mounts to something new, especially if that new is using poly bushings instead of the rubber puck bonded to the plate like factory, you might even find the new mounts being a bit higher than stock by smidge because of the harder durometer of the poly bushings as compared to the stock rubber.

I have them on my Shelby stocker. I had to shim it forward a little so the Hooker headers would clear the steering box (still needed to dent tube slightly) Height wise they seem the same but with shims or washers you can move them around a little. The clearance for headers around the engine mount is better than stock and I’m using the large diameter tube race headers.
