I’ve never investigated to see if seafoam stabilizes fuel or cleans out the crap that forms…might be a little of both. Started using it over 15 years ago when I found bowls on my ‘65 and bowl on a riding mower full of jello after being stored all winter. Now every carbed motor I have idles and revs nice after storage…push mowers, riding mowers, roto-tiller, 4wheeler, mini-generator, and the ‘65.
If you have a mess in the fuel tank, might take a bit to work that out.
