Stock type oil pans, Canton or Milodon
« on: May 25, 2026, 10:51:28 AM »
Are the stock type FE oil pans offered my Milodon and Canton essentially the same?
I believe they do offer better oil control than the factory FE oil pan. (past posts on the Fe Forum refer to this fact)
My vehicle is a stock 69 CJ Mustang.
Both pans require the use of  their specific oil pickup.
Which if any are better and should the windage tray be included?
Thanks,
TonyS

I used the Milodon 7 qt oil pan with a Canton windage tray. I didn't like it. So, I leveled a stock oil pan and inserted 6 qts of oil in it. Put the windage tray on it and the oil just came up to the bottom of the windage tray. I drag raced a built 410 for two years running 6 qts of oil. One of the engine builders on FE Forum told me it would work. it did. I shifted at 5400 rpm.
