Has anybody installed one of these systems with an electric compressor.. How was performance

I just installed electric ac in 70 mustang. Have not tested it yet . I tend to research items after I spend my money. This is another example of that. Price was good, but it’s all custom install as in making and crimping lines and fabricating brackets. A guy on you tube put one in a Monte Carlo. The cooling results were not great. I now wish I would have spent the money on an after market belt driven kit.

Another thing to consider is the amp draw on these.
I researched them while replacing the AC unit in my 71 Ranchero and found the smallest draw was 80 amp's continous.
I though that was way to much draw on my electrical system.

I noticed the heavy amp draw. It would take a monster alternator

And don't forget the amp rating of your wires. That is the reason I decided against it.
I didn't want to replace all my power wire's with 10 AWG wire which is only rated for 30 amp's.

This guy explains the problem with the 12 volt electric A/C compressors being sold. He starts out a bit slow, but does get around to explaining why they just are not a good choice at around the 2:20 mark.  Keep in mind the one's on electric cars usually run at upwards of 400 volts. As the volts go up the current goes down for the same power and is much easier to get to the power level needed without too high of an amp draw.  Stick with the belt driven system.
