Anyone ever use an XS Power AGM battery in their FE?
« on: July 06, 2025, 04:41:21 PM »
I am trying to find a smaller, lighter battery for the trunk of the Cobra.

It shouldn't need a lot of power, but it does need some.  Anyone ever use them?  Light, price is decent, lots in stock at the parts houses, they must sell.

Any experience?  Thanks

Not an xs, but I ran an Odyssey in my Fairlane.  Was very pleased with its function.

I have used a Brail 21 pound battery with no problems at all in our race cars.

I am using an XS975 in mine. Also used one in my previous cobra.

Works fine, no issues.

Believe it or not I run a lot of AGM batteries in all my rigs. And I’ve had really great luck with O’Reillys stuff.I know it’s not Odyssey or any of those others. But they have treated me very well! Now, if I could find one for my 67 Rayson Craft boat…

Thanks, I am an AGM fan, but I need something smaller than a Group 75 (which is pretty small) and it has to have a port for a vent hose.

I guess I should just start measuring from the Oreilly's racks, might be an easy way to see if there is an existing battery that is more commonplace

Thanks Paul, I appreciate it, I can't remember if I was planning a 975 or 1200 version, but great to know.

The yellow top Optima in my race car is still holding strong with its 2010 date sticker on it. I'm amazed and won't replace it just out of loyalty to an inanimate object... Lol

I have 2 Red Tops in my other toys that just won't quit, but I need a smaller size for what I am trying to do.
