Tom Posthuma - Farewell to a great FE guy
« on: November 04, 2024, 03:30:51 PM »
I got the sad news today that my friend and forum member, Tom Posthuma, has passed away.  Tom was battling brain cancer and went into hospice not long ago, and apparently left us this morning.  I think everyone who knew him will miss him.  RIP, Tom.

While I never met Tom in person, I enjoyed reading his posts.  He was a very knowledgeable and passionate FE guy.  You will be missed Tom!

Very sad to hear. Got to meet Tom on Drag Week some years ago when he was riding with his friend, He was enjoying the old buildings they spotted along the drive, and he shared pictures he had on his computer of old drag strips. Super nice guy.

Although we only met once we hit it off and stayed in touch through email. A true Ford guy who even made time for other marques as long as they were interesting. I'll miss him...Godspeed Tom!

I met Tom in the late 70s, or early 80s, and we lived about 1/2 hour from each other. I had driven from Vancouver to the Winternationals in California with Tom before, and we traveled together for the 2018 FERR at Beaver Springs. We talked on the phone regularly after my wife and I retired and moved 4000 miles away, to the East coast, and it was pretty common to find several Emails or links from Tom almost daily until a couple of weeks ago.I had a face Time chat with Tom just over a week ago, shortly after he went into the hospice, it was painful seeing him like that, he looked like he aged 30 years since I visited with him at home, when I went back to British Columbia for a holiday in late May. So glad that I had that time to see him at that time. He was quite a character .RIP Tom.

Really sorry to hear about Tom.
I only met him a couple times in person, but talked to him and traded a lot of information over the years.
He seemed like a really good guy, and an enthusiastic FE fan.
Gonna miss him.
