250 mph Boss '9 ? Wow!

Yah know Jay.....when one looks at the data for the 429, a few of your FE's, cammer or otherwise, could likely do even better.  'Course 250 on the dyno is one thing; 250 at Bonneville would be better.

Ever thought of the Maxton Mile or similar old airport high speed events?

Maybe if I could find a driver LOL!  When I went 151 MPH at Drag Week in 2007, the wife gave me a lot of grief about it when I got home.  Family responsibilities and all that.  She has a point, of course, so I promised her I wouldn't go much faster than 150 (although I HAVE gone 170 in the GT  8))

'Maxton' is no more---the ECTA is now running at a much improved WWII airport in southern Ohio. My own goal is---well it'll be next year before I try to improve my own record. Jay, if you really have any thoughts regarding Land Speed Racing of the ECTA type, give me a PM!

Thanks, didn't know Maxton was AWOL! Still, this form of racing seems to be slowly growing in popularity across the nation.

Gotta agree with Jay's wife. I've also driven some mighty fast rides but going over even 200 mph without benefit of the latest chassis technology and safety equipment would give me pause....for sure. Maybe a 2013 NASCAR spec car for maximum safety would change my opinion yet that would be one very pricey investment.

Only one mile to get up to speed?  Pfff.... ;D

We're getting into the tail end of SpeedWeek now, but still plenty of ultra fast cars running.  I'm sure there's a few FE's in the mix.

http://scta-bni.org/Bonneville/SpeedWeek%202013/LiveStream.html edit: they ended the live-feed for the meet this morning after a great week of racing.

I'll be there next month running my Galaxie, so there will be at least one FE in attendance.
