I keep telling my kid, "Take pictures with you and your friends in the picture....in 30 years you will be happy you did."
My three favorite things in the thread, so far, come from Heo and Jay.
Heo: Here we have an image of the fun car......and in the background is a Volvo PV544.
Those things were almost everywhere, from my perspective....Not quite VW Beetle everywhere, but they certainly were around....and almost always parked somewhere too. Rarely did I ever actually see one driving down the road.
Jay: In Jay's description is says these are photos from the summer.....with snow everywhere.
I guess you are not too far off Jay, afterall it is Minnesota.
Heo and Jay: The common link between the, literally half a world apart, photos is they focus on two highly important subjects.....fun cars and fun girls.
Cleandan,
So you recognice a 544

, i had several and drove them down the road

Right now i working on a Volvo 210, Stationwagon version of the 544.
That i built in to a stepside pickup for my dad in the early 80s. 210 have separate frame, 544 unibody. I used the roof, top of cowl rockerpanels and doors from a 544.( lover roof more slanted windshield, longer doors)I Made a bed, and rearfenders out of four frontfenders
Dad rolled it when a brakelining got loose on a fronwheel and locked up the wheel he hit a pole and swerved around and a rearwheel cut down in the grass and
it rolled over in the ditch parked since then about 25 years so it needs some love and bodywork. Plans are orange paint American racing wheels with black center
after tec inspection i add twin SU carbs and another head shall give me about 140 hp with the cam thats in the engine. But i have a 289 with a C4 in the barn so with some trimming of the firewall and tunnel and a rearsump......
