Morel Solid Roller Lifter dimensions?
« on: June 09, 2024, 01:26:45 PM »
Looks like I've gotta get some parts to refresh my engine. I was using Lunati solid roller lifters and my push rods and extra set of push rods are the length needed with these lifters. In the pictures attached I have dimensions. Are Morel lifters the same dimensions? Are all engine related lifters basically the same dimensions, regardless the manufacturer?

Overall from roller tangent to the top of the lifter, not the link bar area. I have 2.000 +/-. I then measured inside to the first ledge and get @ .112. So I'll call it the "seat dimension", I get .888. With the pin hole in the seat, I cannot get a better dimension. Has anyone or can anyone with a morel #4726 lifter measured it? I'm trying to avoid new push rods and time.

From Morel:
Dim A = 2.033"
Dim A bottom of roller to top of 0.322" ball on push rod seat.
Subtract 0.312" from 2.033" to get bottom of PR seat to bottom of lifter.

If not sure send a note to: https://straubtech-morellifters.com/information/contact

The 4726 has been discontinued.   It has been replaced by the 7703.

Damned, they are about .140 taller than my Lunati's. I have a rocker stand shim of .220 thk. Maybe I can reduce that and play around to see if my 9.420 OAL push rods will work? I guess the REM finish on the new version Morels is a better money maker? I guess I need to shop for lifters.

Changing rocker stand height will change rocker arm geometry.
Provided your rocker arm geometry was set up correctly before - I would not change the rocker shaft height.
