Wifes nephew
« on: May 18, 2024, 06:46:07 PM »
Wifes sister with family visited last weekend. They are nice but,,,Political correct kind of treehugers
I was going for some groceries and the husband asked if he could come with me. Big fan of electrical
cars. but now traveling through the wilderness he chosed his volkswagen or Audi or something like that
that run on fuel. They have to have a fuel car to get where they want to go ???
Anyway i took the Galaxie and their 8 year son wanted to come to the store with us. First thing he desperatly
searched for seatbelts i told him there is no belts, You got to have belts,
Nope i dont
Dad tell him he got to have belts.
i just laughed and said you can allways stay with mom if you want to
Nooo But why is there no belts?
Beacuse this is a male kind of car i told him
we went to the store and att the store parking he discovered the window crank, what is this?
You crank it to lower the window
He cranked it up and down  Ohhh coool dad look i can crank the window

We bought the groceries i started up the Galaxie and rolled out of the parking lot
Kid said,,,Dad why does it sound so cool compared to our cars ?
Because it is old
I saw the kid in backseat thinking,,,
Why it is a male car?
Beacuse you can do this i told him, I shifted to low and made a long burnout let of the brakes shifted to second and pulled away
with smoking tires shifted to third and let of the gas. Kid laughing hysterical in the backseat claping his hand shouting do it again do it again
Dad grabbing the dash no no dont do it dont do it
Dad daad you cant do this with the volkwagen  kid laughing
Dad said im just glad if we came back alive
 ;D ;D ;D ;D

When we came home kid rushed in to tell mum what i did. Mum told him it was werry childis thing to do and dangerous
No mum its not childish, its a male car
There no sush thing as a male car

Yes i told her, it identifies as a male and whom are you to tell it different
 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Mom and dad was kind of buthurt that i spoiled their 8 year PC upbringing in seconds

Kid pleaded to me rest of the evening, cant we do another burnout pleease pleasee
he had a totaly different glow in his eyes

Funny thing is they named the kid after me before they realy got to know me
 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I remember going to the track when I was around 5 years old, the engine noises and the colors of the cars was intoxicating. When we were kids and they were tuning the car in the driveway and the fenders would be shaking and it was so loud you couldn’t talk to your cousin right next to you. Them testing the car in the street in front of the house open headers yeah well it don’t get to much better than that.

I bet he remember that moment for the rest of his life. Dad will to, but in his case it is probably not a cherished memory ;D ;D ;D

Heo, we all get to make up our own minds about the things we experience as we live our life.

Regardless of ones political, social, or environmental stand, it is very important to offer to others an actual experience, rather than being left hearing an often propaganda directed, agenda mindset telling you what things are.

Based on your description of the kids parents it seems plausible that kid has received the Greta Thunberg agenda riddled version regarding vehicles.

Hopefully the kid will, somehow, look into things on his own and learn a more honest story regarding such things.
He does not need to be converted into a gear head, or convinced old cars are good in some instances.
He just needs to see the reality of how others, who are not eco warriors against such things, are still good people enjoying things they like.

Showing people the enjoyment of your passion is one of lifes better aspects.

At the very least, I think you cemented yourself....likely forever, as the "Cool Uncle" who likes to have some fun and might show you a thing or two......just don't tell mom okay.

You can't take the boy out of the boy!!  Uncle Heo is cool  ;D

I remember years ago going with a friend on a shakedown in his '69 GT-500.  Dave's wife had him watching the three year old daughter, so we strapped the car seat into the back of the Shelby.

The car ran great!  After awhile Dave couldn't help himself and he mashed the throttle on a long straight.  As the smoke cleared, a little voice screamed out, "Do it again! Do it again!"

We spent the rest of the ride home trying to figure out how to do damage control with the wife.  Dave also resolved that he was going to buy his daughter a little four cylinder car when she turned 16.  No, her name is not Greta!
A careful study of failure will yield the ingredients for success.
