Not mine (if it was I wouldn't be selling it)...one of 57, according to the listing. Very nice!

Nice wonder how much it sold for

It was just posted today, with an end date of March 15. It's already at $100,000.

Nice restoration. Warrantee tag on the door is a reproduction. Kinda makes me wonder.

Maybe Atlanta built the 57 R-Codes as a batch? The BaT auction car from 2022 was scheduled 9 calendar days before this current car yet the 2022 car has a higher serial number.

Were is the original?
I'd say the tag is worth about 100k maybe more. We will see.

It's a legit 66 R-code. I looked at it in the early 90's.
It was disassembled but very complete and expensive.

A 66 C code with a 427 and a 5 Speed sold for $90,000 at Mecum this weekend.
I know it's like peaches to nectarines.
I hope all Lanes go for wild azz prices. I might be able to sell mine. ;D

Yeah, I was looking forward to it ALL week. Then about a minute before they went to commercial and then came back and spent time profiling some other car and then went back to the auction and were 2 cars past the Fairlane. I was PISSED. $90k plus $9k buyers premium tho.... made me feel a lot better about my 66!

Also at Mecum Glendale was a restored 1963.5 Galaxie Lightweight:

https://www.mecum.com/lots/1113303/1963-ford-galaxie-500-lightweight/?aa_id=565065-0

Sold for $117,500 plus commission.  Maybe a bargain compared to the BAT Fairlane.

It is nice seeing some of the FoMoCo greats getting their just due and respect, but there is a large part of me that thinks these people are insane, all the moreso when considering many of these cars are purchased without ever being personally inspected.

When you can blow $267,000 on a car that will never ever be driven, I think it's more about bragging rights of just owning one. Look at all these YouTube videos coming out about guys that have 20-40-100 rare or valuable cars just sitting in barns collecting dust or slowly rotting away. Haggerty has had quite a few of them. Crazy.

Agreed. I have a couple of friends who have a couple buildings full, though admittedly they have more of a semi-organized pack-rat thing going on, but a bunch of GM (read "God's Mistake") stuff just sitting in temp controlled buildings. Some of it is cool stuff, being they are primarily Pontiac fiends (Pontiac made some very nice looking cars), but there are a lot of cars just sitting, never to see daylight again in their lifetime. We always joke that their collection will one day make a nice auction for someone.

As I tell people, cars are for driving, not parking on a doily--but that's me....
