I wouldn't eat fish from Lake Erie...  The lake has gotten a heck of a lot shallower over the last century due to huge amounts of industrial waste dumped by the barge-load.  This nasty stuff includes foundry tailings full of toxic heavy metals, chemicals like dioxin and PCB's, you name it!

They're still doing it to some extent, though much less now.  Everything I ever landed was thrown back!

Lead paint never hurt me or maybe it did LOL. I soldered for decades, first manufacturing circuit boards then pipe fitting. Also did rehab work with lead and asbestos lined boilers and pipe wrap. Paid for it also, cancer, Barrets and other fun stuff from chemicals and refrigerant.....Jon

Average can manage to get into in home and auto hobby. Hell just cleaning a battery terminal and post likely pegs all the meters. I can only assume all the Tetraethyl lead stuffed into fuel landed along the highways and is still there.
