Absolutely is a factory installed Hurst/Ford shifter. Only the OE shifter has the removable handle and slotted shifter rods, aftermarket Comp/Plus shifters for Mustangs with toploaders have the handle welded on, and use rods that are threaded at the shifter end for adjustment. This shifter allows the handle to be removed , by pushing back the flat retaining spring, I imagine that was a requirement for ease of transmission installation with the shifter linkage attached on the assembly line. Somebody doing a concours type restoration would much prefer this shifter over the "over the counter" aftermarket Hurst Comp/Plus. Hope it finds a good home.
