A nice relaxing day in the sun
« on: July 04, 2013, 01:26:28 PM »
I came home from a short vacation late last night
so my plan was to sleep this morning.6.30 the phone
rang  ::) Sorry wrong number >:( >:(
Since i was awake i Went out in the garden .The grass
realy neaded to bee mowed.I tried to start the riding mower
dead battery ::).Took the battery from one of the cars
now it started. After about 10 feets a belt escaped from underneat
 >:( >:(.
Crawled under the mower to take a look at the rest of the belts
and desided to change out all of them. While i was laying there
i was feeling something down by my ankle i thought it was
our dog.But it was Walking up my leg so i thought it was
the cat. I put down my hand to pat it when i hear a hissing
growling sound and look down and see two eyes and teets
almost soiled my pants :o :o :o tried to kick the beast away
but it was in my lap and my hands entagled in the belts
of the mower.......it was a hedgehog and he made a Quick
retreat.
Well i got the belts changed started to mowe the lawn
the mower was running fine the sun shining then.......
WHACK KABLOWIE .....and silence. The rod in the brigs&stratton
vanilla blender wanted to see the sun too >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
I should have gone back to bed after the phone call

LMAO at the hedgehog incident LOL ;D ;D ;D  Over here in the US we keep them as pets.  My kids had one for a couple years.  It was a relatively inoffensive creature; it didn't smell bad or make a lot of noise, and it was cheap to feed.  I liked it a lot better than our stupid dog >:(, which smells bad, barks incessantly, and eats way too much expensive dog food...

LOL

That's hilarious,  years ago an old g/f and I came up on what looked to be a dying bear on an old back road.

As we approached, cautious and nearly terrified at this big black breathing hulk it moved and she screamed...well it kept moving, with the wind, it was a big trash bag filled by the breeze.

I swear we were sober, it looked like a big bear rolled on its side!

Now that's funny  ;D

I swear my weekends start like that every week. Except maybe for the Hedgehog part. If it's a good day, I just wait for something to happen.

Lately I've been battling squirrels getting into the attic of my studio. There must be 100+ of those little (expletive) running around this year. Being surrounded by walnut trees doesn't help much. I finally bought some shot shells for my 357 so I can just shoot them in the attic. When I tell the wife to go inside the house and not come out until I say it's ok, she knows whats coming....

Ross, that bear story was classic.

Yes i kow the feeling. Some Days when everything
just moves smothly you start thinking when is the
bad luck going to hit.And the later it hits
the harder it hits you
Like now we had a perfekt vacation. Nice wheather
cruised around the country with the top down
no flat tire no breakdowns .And i knew at home i had
a riding mower with new tires so cuting the grass
when i came home would be a pice of cake ::) ::) ::) ::)
Well atleast i will have 4 new sparetires for the next
mower ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Yep, Sweden must be nice this time of year; plenty of sunshine lasting way into the nite!  8) In the Houston area in the summer there are lots of car shows and events. One I like lots is Coffee and Cars... It starts at 7am on the first saturday of every month and goes till 9. The last couple of months have seen over 1000 cars, everything from new Lamborginis to '32 Fords  :)

Not to mention the steaming piles of used food the dog leaves in the yard every day...and on "gotcha" or "I'm mad at you" days, the carpet.

A couple  weeks ago I was working on the brakes to my Bonneville when something caught the corner of my eye. I looked around and here was a chipmonk about a foot from me. I looked at it and went BOO. The little varmint jumped straight up did a double reverse flip and a couple of barrel rolls  and ran straight to the back of the garage and went under a 4 spd I have on the floor. About 10 mins later he was chattering at me from the other side of the garage trying to get out!

trees.  Never forget discovering my blueberry bushes were packed with large ripe blueberries for the picking. Usually if I'm lucky I could get a half dozen berries a day before the birds ate them. Low and behold I now could get handfuls daily. Turned out the hawks had turned my yard into a no-fly zone for birds (hawks eat birds and birds eat blueberries)
Sadly the nest/top of tree was blown away in a storm, though the hawks were done with it for that year. I really enjoyed the hawks/berries for three seasons. Was cool to enjoy their antics and seeing their returning each spring with the previous years baby. (birds of prey really must train their young to hunt)  Soon enough Jr would get loudly booted out of the area just in time for mom to hatch the new years eggs. Only had one baby a year -
