WTB: A/C system '68 full size Merc.
« on: June 29, 2013, 12:20:14 AM »
    Hey guys,

I am in search of a complete A/C system for my 1968 Mercury Monterey fastback. The car is all apart now and getting ready for a roisserie restoration. Factory A/C would be a nice addition. The system can come from a 68 Monterey, Montclair or Parklane.  Being my Monterey is a non A/C car, I need everything from brackets to vents, all vacuum hoses, bolts, nuts, screws, ducting, dash with vents, compressor, hoses, valves, controls, engine pulleys----just everything about an A/C for a '68 full size Merc.

    Thanks,
      Mark

Dang Mark, THAT'S an undertaking!  Will your rotisserie support that beast. :o

NTW, I agree, a factory looking A/C set-up will be the cat's a------ uh, "butt" in that thing! ;)

I got the heavy duty rotisserie just to be sure.  Since it's a full frame car, the whole front clip comes off and I think the body section is might shorter that my 69 Cougar body with the integral inner fenders.  The car has been sitting apart for about 4 years now. I hit a deer with it and decided to start taking it apart for restoration. Then lots of of projects got in the way. Even though I have a lot to do, I am forcing this one to happen before the car deteriorates any further.

Mark I have an ac compressor with mounting bracket and the idler pulleys .It came off a 66 thunderbird with 428 .I would imagine the compressor needs to be rebuilt .If interested call me 678 603 8400 I would take $50 for everything Shipping would depend on whatever the cost would be .Doug 8)
