Pushrod hole size in 2x4 intakes
« on: June 16, 2023, 12:44:14 PM »
Are the pushrod holes in the Ford medium riser 2x4 intake the same size as the Blue Thunder medium riser 2x4 intake?  I have a Ford 2x4 medium riser, and I'm using a POPs roller rocker system with POPs pushrods, which are thicker than the original Ford pushrods.  Seems the holes in the Ford intake are awful small to use the POPs pushrods.

I didn't measure the pushrod hole diameter when I tested all the intakes, but I'm about 90% sure they are the same size, 5/8" diameter - Jay

I agree with Jay.
I have not measured the pushrod holes either, but they do appear to be 5/8".
I seem to remember the Blue Thunder intakes are machined a tiny bit larger on the valve cover side of the pushrod hole, almost as if they were beveling it just a bit to be sure the clearance is best.

The Ford intakes have a straight cut hole that is the same top to bottom.
