Oregon solid flat tappet FO-422
« on: May 29, 2023, 11:33:51 AM »
Anyone got a cam card for one?  I have all of Ken 's lobe charts, but not sure what this one is.  I will call him tomorrow but trying to do a little calculating today.  Thanks!

Well, it's a C8AX-D cam...probably not the cam we need for a 428 PI, C-6 highway patrol car :)

Used a C8AX-D in the Thunderbolt about a zillion years ago...

It was part of a combo that was very hard on plugs. Champs changed after every round. still burnv marks on my arms if I look hard enough. Autolite would last all day but to be given another case, we had to bust out the porcelain and return the steel shells.

Mrs.-T and myself were just at the Kingman AZ street drags.
They blocked off Route 66 in the middle of town and made a no-prep drag strip. 1/8 mile.
There was a Falcon there with a 433 inch Low Riser with the infamous "D" camshaft.
It ran mid 7's at around 110.
Not bad for outdated old stuff.

Off topic ....

I built up a 273 Commando mill and put in in a 66 Dart Gt body

It ate Champion spark plugs as well ... they would last a few and the mill would start missing out at hi rpms

The C8AX-C would probably be pretty good though, I think that is the same grind they used on the D2OZ 429-460 PI cam.
