Only things that were "new" were the previously mentioned offshore knock off of the Performer RPM, which honestly does not look bad at all.  Same guys have an aluminum water pump (couple low dollar suppliers on those already) and a decent looking timing cover - which we really needed.  As much as I dislike knock-off items, I will probably carry all three since availability on stuff is so bad and costs for the name brand product has gone sky high if and when you can even get it.

I bought a timing cover off ebay. ad did not name manufacturer or point of origin.  looks pretty good.  have not tried to bolt up yet. packaging was plain jane, did have a "S" cast inside so I figured Speedway

This may be the root source for the timing covers (and other parts)...

TSP is who had them at SEMA, looked like nice casting quality. It appeared the timing cover is die cast. It's the around same weight as an original.

TSP is a marketing group, this side of the Pacific. Make a product, they look it over, decide if they can make money, on the product. A lot of products made in off shore locations, the manufacturing is there, but they have no sales/marketing, no distributors, this is where TSP comes in.

From Barry R"s comment: are any Timing covers hard to find or just nice-looking aftermarket ones?
I've got a box full of stock TC covers.
