$20 valve spring compressor

I have gone a bit overboard on cost so I try to save whenever I can. I needed something with a foot that will compress a bee-hive style retainer.
I came across a cheap tool on Amazon (China) for a Chrysler 3.7L, 4.7L engine for under $20.00. I then needed an old shaft a few stands (Thanks RicMc) some bolts and a spacer.
Works just fine.

I thought that was why you were asking for a worn out shaft and two stands.  Shows that with a little thought money can be saved.  In the past I took a ball joint crow's foot and welded two extensions on the prongs long enough to go under the shaft.  Press down on the valve retainer, fish out the keepers and job done.
