Question for EFI guys
« on: August 11, 2022, 06:16:46 PM »
I'm looking at these Holley EFI kits and wondering if one  would be better or if it's a toss up.

https://www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/fuel_injection/sniper_efi/sniper_efi_stealth_4150/super_sniper_efi_stealth_4150_-_650hp/parts/550-875
Car is a 67 mustang fastback street car
Tremec 5 speed
3.70 gears
427 FE with Trick flow heads and a factory PI intake
Hydraulic roller cam.
Holley Dual Sync distributor
Holley also has two in-tank fuel pumps a 255gph and a 350gph which would be correct for this app?

For an extra hundred bucks I would go the Terminator. I have heard better things about the Terminator than Sniper and I have a Sniper. Do a bit of reading on the Holley forums. https://forums.holley.com/

I have installed a number of Holley EFI systems, but it has been long enough ago that neither of the shown systems were available at that time. I worked directly with the EFI guys at Holley because I did the very first installation of a pair of their 4-barrel units on Brother Lon's '67 Mustang/427 TP. We were learning as we went. The Holley guys were VERY helpful as we worked ourselves through the maze toward having a fully functual set-up. I was writing for Super Ford Magazine and getting things right resulted in several articles for the mag.

From your description, I'd follow the info above and go with the 'better' system. Keep in mind that having better than you think you need is likely to be of benefit when the inevitable improvements become desirable.

I installed a Terminator X Stealth on the 416FE in one of my cars.  Looks really good...most folks don't realize it is an EFI unit.  Tunes pretty much exactly like the Sniper.  I'd do it again on another engine.  I have a standard Sniper on a 445FE, Edelbrock PF4 on my 363 small block, and am installing a sequential setup using a Holley HP ECU on my rowdy 465FE.
