3rd member recommendation
« on: May 11, 2022, 05:15:03 PM »
looking for help in selecting 3rd member for rear end.  1964 Thunderbolt Clone.   Rhodes Race Cars Fab 9 houstin.  For now, 445 inch stroker.   Barry's heads, cam, stroker kit.  some street, some strip.  Plans for more engine some day.  waht manufacturer? Gear Ratio?  Leaning toward 40 spline as I understand they are strongest.  know anyone that sells at less than MAP pricing?

Thanks

Good 3rd members come up all the time on "Class Racer Forum" most of the ones being sold by super stock or comp racers are aluminum with bolt through caps and 40 spline.

just for info 40 axels are heavy as he-- like a dual dump truck axel -- big weight add!! 35spline will                   easily hold 1000hp car with 33x14 slicks-friends alcohol car! 40s are overkill with added weight- maby  gun drilled would help but still heavy -  oldiron

If You Want It sooner, Make A Discreet Call To Quick Performance, And Talk To The Right Person. Its Been A Secret, But For An Additional, Not Outrageous, Extra Fee, It Will Arrive Much Sooner. The Fee Pretty Much Pays For Overtime For One Of Their Builders To Put Your Order On The Fast Track. Nothing Wrong With It, Just A Little Extra Reward For Someone Who Is Willing To Put In More Than 40 Hours. If You Want It For This Summer, Its Worth A Try. They Are A Very Good Company To Work With, And Very Reasonable Price Wise. I Have Their Products In My 63.5, Narrowed, With Their Axels And Longer Wheel Studs As Well.
