Dragweek 2022 host track rumored to be closing
« on: March 24, 2022, 11:51:52 AM »
I just read where Memphis International Raceway is rumored to be closing as of May 2022. It is supposed to be the start/finish track for DW2022.  One of the tracks, Platinum Raceway, for RaceWeek 2022 2.0 has announced it was closing too so they are scrambling to find a replacement. A local track, Kansas International Raceway, was also rumored to be closing but some new blood bought the track. Our other local track Mid America Dragway is rumored to be for sale now too.  It is sad to see these tracks closing.

Appears a lot of that going around.  We lost our local track this year.  Here's a note about Wildhorse in AZ.

They cant figure out a way for the overpass to work without track going away.. They are probably offering  ton of money and its to
good to pass up the payday. Once they are gone they are hard to get back. I live in New york actually Long Island and we had many tracks here,
National Speedway and West Hampton dragway to name a couple quick. Both NHRA tracks. Now we have nothing. There was also a couple of roundy -rounds
Freeport and Islip speedway and Islip also had an 1/8 mile track.
