Plenty of 4 doors, but never a 2 door HT. Looks good. Right in my back yard too.

I have seen them and in the same color. They were real popular here in Oklahoma when new.
If that car was at the Oklahoma city I would bid on it. I have a coparts account but don't want to pay the shipping from NY.
That is the nicest older car I have ever seen at a co parts yard.

Stupid me had the choice of the engineless 62 Ranchero I bought or a red 64 Merc hardtop like that. Factory 4 speed, bucket seats, power windows.... for the same price. But I didn't want another big "boat". Someone else got it and now it's advertised for about ten times the price I could have paid.

Yeah, it may be advertised at ten times the price you could have paid but what would the car be now had you purchased it?

Tubbed for certain, maybe a minimal roll bar/cage, something with at least 500 hp under the hood...you know, the required stuff.

Well, errr, ummmm, yeah. Certainly i'd have to improve the power and stuff like that.... three two barrels and shortie headers at least.
