There’s some really decent info in that article, and it’s great they give FE Power, and The Great FE Intake Comparo a good plug, but unfortunately there are also a bunch of small errors & inaccuracies in the FE section (and I think I spotted one in the MEL section too). It would really be great if these authors would ask a couple people with some expertise to check through this stuff before it’s published, or at least make some corrections later. But sadly that doesn’t usually happen, and then we seem to stuck with it forever. Readers should be aware it’s not 100% correct. A couple examples are the picture caption of the 390 cast iron “High Performance” intake manifold (I assume he was probably attempting to describe a 390 GT intake ) that he says to pitch, which isn’t bad advice, except the picture is actually a 428 CJ intake, which Jay’s testing showed performs well, just heavy of course. And his calling the C7ZX-9425-A 2-4V intake “Experimental”, and that someone probably smuggled it out the back door at Ford, when in fact it was used on a couple thousand ‘67 Shelby GT500 Mustangs, and who knows how many more sold over the Ford parts counter. Just a couple examples, I think I quit counting after about a dozen. The press and handy info is nice, especially for people just getting into FE’s, but don’t take it as totally accurate. It’s not free like the internet, but Jay’s book is a much better resource if a person wants to learn about FE intakes, and comes with lots more bonus FE content
Ok, rant over lol.
