Boy isn't that the truth! I worked on Leyland buses that an outfit imported here in the late 80's. All Lucas 24v positive ground stuff with some very, um, interesting circuit layouts. After a few repairs on that I truly could appreciate the Prince of Darkness.
I have a 1966 Sunbeam Tiger and the electrical system makes me chuckle.
The entire system is kept "safe" with two (2) fuses, both are 35 amp.
One 35 amp fuse for the starting circuit.
One 35 amp fuse for everything else.
I often wonder, if given 34 amps, would the gauges melt, or start on fire first?
