Had one in my 202 F-350 that I just sold, new F-350 Lariat will have same motor.  Pulls like a hoss.  If I had $, I'd get a crate one and put it in the dragster LOL.

It doesn't pull like a diesel but they do very well, they make about the same torque as an OBS 7.3 PS. We have 6 F350 7.3's in the fleet now, all SRW longbeds all but 1 of them are 2021's. Mostly in town and lightly loaded they're getting around 12. I took one on a 350 mile road trip for parts and it got 14.8 round trip at 75.

I think they're a pretty good option if you don't absolutely need the diesel. I have one out of a wrecked pickup, but I'd like the Ford Racing control pak instead of trying to mod the production harness and make it work in a swap, but if they don't hurry up and release it I may just find a truck to swap it in and make it work.

Crate motors are not coming, they've been here!!! Summit have had them available for a few months how. But so far Ford hasn't released a control pak for them and keeps pushing the date back. So currently, if you want to do a swap you're mod'ing stock ECM and harness to make it work. But you can get a 7.3 in a box now.

I have been watching and the inventory levels are dropping like everything else. So far just a production version in the crate, but I would think there will be some hopped up version before too long. I have been tempted to swap one into my 73 dent side, but it's such an unmolested truck I hate to do it.

There are versions of the 7.3 gas north of 1600 hp already.  Twin Turbo, Roots style blowers, even a procharger making 850 on a stock engine.

Tempted to drop one in my 1966 N700 Crew Cab

How did the 7.3 do on fuel ?  Does it pull anything like the diesel?

The race trailer weighs 13,900.  Our pull to Dallas and back for the bracket finals averaged 7.6, running 70 mostly.  Mostly 70 coming home, traffic during the day Thursday going to the Motorlex was hell.  Coming back, note that It's not flat around here.  You'll lose almost a full number on the barometer once you top Ranger Hill heading west.

Moved daughter/grandkids to Albuquerque, that full load + truck was 20,460.  Averaged 7.8.  The truck alone @ 7510 lbs was doing 15.5 in NM, then it falls off to 12.5 in west Texas.  I assume the Lariat will do similar.  Build week is scheduled 1/31.

In relation to parts - we ordered F-150 tow mirrors for her truck that work with the 360 cams and ultimate trailer tow option.  $1600 plus install.  As of December, not yet released by Ford.

My wife's new F150 3.5 Ecoboost hauls ass, a 7.3 with a couple on it would be killer.  Putting a motor plate on that thing would be a trick LOL.
