New Broncos
« on: November 29, 2021, 10:27:33 PM »
I looked at a new Bronco 2dr Outer Banks edition yesterday. It listed at $48,000 which was already out of my price range but along with the window sticker there was another sticker saying "retail market adjustment, $20,000". $68,000! Are there people that will actually pay almost 50% over MSRP to get one of these? I bet the salesmen mutter "suckerrrrr" under their breath every time they sell one of these.

My daughter put a reservation on a 4 door Badlands which was 65k. They kept putting it off first she was supposed to be one of the first to get it. Then they e mailed her and said she couldn’t get the top in a color she could only get it in black. Then they said she couldn’t get the top she wanted because there was a problem with them (which later we found out it was because they were leaking. Each time they told her the vehicle would be delayed. Then they told her that if she wanted one of the options that she put down she couldn’t get the vehicle till 2023. At that point I told her to get another Jeep. She’s a nurse and she needs a dependable vehicle t9 get back and forth to work. She really had her heart set on the Bronco especially cause there starting to show up around the island. I think there going to have quality control problems and if they do and it goes back to the dealer a bunch of times that would be a problem so I told her to get the Jeep and if she wants a Bronco wait till they get the bugs out of them

The main problem is the supply chain. No one can get parts in a timely fashion. Various companies are shuttering the assembly plants, in hopes the supply chain straightens out. The dealers around me have 7 to 12 new cars on the lot. Everything else is used. So few cars to sell, they are buying every used car they can get.

From the guy that sold us our new F-150, one of the guys at the local dealer bought a Gen 1 of the new Broncos.  Paid in the $60K + range for it, flipped it for $200K.  Limited output, none for sale apparently.

When we bought wife'sr 2021 F-150 about 3 weeks ago, the only optioned F-250 on the lot sold while we were looking at it, $4000 over sticker.
