I wound up with something like 0.305" for the ID of the smaller stepped hole, 0.336 in the center, and 0.375" on the upper ID . That would have left me with practically no wall thickness on any of the three dipsticks I have bought so far. I thought about pulling the pan and reaming the hole out, but that would require pulling the headers and steering components for the 3rd time.
I noticed that none of the dipsticks (including Lokar's) could ever actually seat properly since the bead or machined lip would strike the block before the tube was seated. I machined down the Lokar adapter and got it close, but couldn't manage to get a press fit. I wound up cutting down a tube and making it press fit on the 1st hole, and then pressed the Lokar flexible tube over the solid piece in the block. I do have to come up with a custom length dipstick but at least it's in.
