I have seen both heads. I've never heard of different flow numbers or chamber design from Big F to small. Where is the 30-50 extra horsepower derived from?

While i cant say its 30-50 HP i can say the Big F are supposed to be better than the small F heads, same with the SK heads which are supposed to be the best Med riser heads. Some of the classs racers might be able to tell you the differences better than I can.

I have a set of the aluminum 427 SK heads. I never ran them because of what used to happen to the valve pockets.  I bought them from Ron Miller at Ford Power Parts before I knew what happened to them when they were used on the street.

Looks like somebody killed the exhaust ports, what a shame.

Curious. This is for ONE head. What would happen if this head were paired with an "ordinary" MR head on the same engine?

That’s an old NASCAR trick, they’d put the Big F on the right engine bank and the extra power would naturally make the car turn left…

Dean, what are the details on those flow numbers.
Was that an completely stock head? Or did it have modifications. Those numbers are strong.

They were "prepped" NHRA legal for stock eliminator heads I got with the R code Fairlane when I bought it. Date codes were not correct for Fairlane resto so I used them on the stock eliminator car until I sold the car, kept the top end and then put them on the gasser motor where they ran until 2 years ago when one intake wall casting collapsed and locked the motor with coolant after breaking a flexplate and subsequent internal  vibrations. sold the remaining good head to Jack and the bad head to another forum member as a repair project.

That's hilarious, Chilly.  I guess Jack gets the good head too.  Hell, I'm just not touching this any further!  ;D
