« on: June 06, 2021, 04:11:33 PM »
anyone been trying to find stock or reproduction steel wheels?  Both Summit and Jegs don't seem to have them and the two companies I know of that sold reproduction steel wheels don't seem to be making them anymore?  at least not ford style wheels

What manufacturers have you checked?  How about Wheel Vintiques?

It has been a few years, but the wheels that I have on my 59, are Wheel Vintique steel 15x6" and 15x8" units, that look like originals, and accept the stock "Dog Dish" hubcaps. i ordered 6 of the wheels, and at that time, Summit must have had them in stock, as I received them shortly after I ordered them.

I always liked the stock steel wheels that were chromed. To me that’s old school hot rod looking.

I ordered a set of 15x7 and 15x8 of the wheel vintiques series 62 last summer for my 63 from Jegs. I received the 15x7's but the 15x8's have been out of stock ever since at Summit and Jegs. The 15x7's seem to be in stock but I check ever so often on the 15x8's and no luck anywhere that I can find.

Call Wheel Vintiques directly and they will make them for you. They did a custom set of Series 62 for me (which I ran w/ dog dish hubcaps) last year. They even powder coated mine the color of my choice $$$

+1 on Wheel Vintiques.  I ordered my chrome 15X7 and 15X8 for the '63 Galaxie from Summit and they were in stock at the time (2015).  The '63 dog dish caps fit perfectly and the chrome is excellent too.  Agree about calling them directly if Summit can't ship right away.

I've had good luck with Wheel Smith. Called them up and gave them the dimensions I needed. Wheels showed up 2wks later. Of course this was pre-covid, so lead time might be months now.

Not sure which sizes he ordered, but yesterday I saw a post on Facebook from somebody that had just received his Wheel Vintique steel wheels that had been on backorder with Summit. May want to look again at the Summit site.
