In my opinion, the coolest class out there for real Ford Performance!

yep,one of the best "budget" classes.its amazing what kind of power they can get in the 427 hi risers and 428 cjs and stay within the rules!i was hooked on calverts fairlane and his 68 1/2 cobra jet car.but theres many more nice fords in that class.

I have been a big fan of Stock and Super Stock since I started drag racing in the mid 70s. I even got to enjoy some of the NHRA Stock experience (setting a NHRA record, doing engine teardown in the pits for setting the record, getting disqualified for combustion chamber volume being 4/10s of one cc too small, during the teardown !, running NHRA National events, as well as divisional meets, eventually setting the NHRA record a couple more times, while passing teardown.) It was a lot of fun, and pretty cool racing against some of the West Coast big name racers. Budget didn`t allow a 428CJ Mustang, had to settle for a 85 Mustang 5.0 in M & N/S. Ran Stock from 2003 thru 2014, and if one of my lottery tickets ever comes thru, I would love to do it again.

I'm a pretty big fan, ran super street then super gas with FE mustangs. Throttle stop racing got a bit boring to watch and most of those guys are now running 9.90's in the 160-170mph range.
Took some time off and slowly put together parts for a stock eliminator FE, going to build it as a '67 Shelby clone. One thing for sure it's as expensive as everyone says if you want to run pretty far under the index.
I know I'm spending at least twice as much as the super gas car to go slower, I just hope I'm far enough under the B/SA index to justify it.  (Indy is on the bucket list!)

Without a doubt, I prefer to watch these classes run over any others. They are the ones making the most out of factory stuff, or at least mostly factory stuff. I wish I had the means to play, but those are out of my pay grade. I can't imagine the effort needed to maintain and travel like some of those guys do. They must have jobs where they can take any time off they want. And understanding all the rules is something that, it seems to me anyway, requires a 4 year degree..lol

Stock & Super Stock are my favorites. It’s always been amazing what they can accomplish within the restrictive rules they have. Most people don’t realize when casually watching them what is involved.
