does anyone know if bypass hose between water pump and manifold has to be used on a street car? what does it do ? it would be one less PIA without it . And I would have two more hose clamps

Lots of people run without those, including me. I always put a 1/8" hole in the thermostat to allow some small amount of circulation when the engine is cold, but other than that I don't do anything other than plug the bypass.
