325/252 with .356” lobe lift, really lazy lobe but your valvetrain is heavy.

Not looking at displacement or cylinder head flow, but focusing on the above with a 5500 rpm peak, I’d be at about 160-165 seat and 370-380 open.

Thanks Brent.. This is a 525 inch torque motor, with a less than robust valve train, hence the lazy lobe.  I wanted to get by with as little spring as possible to ease the strain on the rocker shafts.

I figured it was a large engine.

A small OD dual spring (1.25-1.3) or a beehive/conical will be your friend.

Those spring pressures are perfectly fine for stock rockers and end stands.

FWIW, you could have ran a lot more aggressive camshaft and still would have been safe.

Comp 26120 beehive.  Probably should go in at 1.890 to 1.900 with what you describe.

Don't think you even need that much on the seat, but you might want a little more open.  The 5500 number should be an easy target with almost any decent dual spring, but I would also vote for the beehive/conical deal - took me a while to get comfortable with the idea of a single spring, but they do seem to work well in this sort of application.  Just be aware that on a hydraulic roller, once you loose valvetrain control it often "poops the sheets" pretty hard - - it'll be perfect at 5800 and crashing off 40 pounds of torque at 5900.  If you hear the exhaust note change at a certain RPM - stay below that number.  Or add pressure/reduce weight (titanium or tool steel retainers).
